George Christofi

ComposeR

George Christofi is a Cyprus-based composer whose work mainly unfolds and morphs by exploring both the ‘surface’ and ‘core’ of sound. Focused mainly (but not exclusively) on the transformation of sound, his writing explores ‘colours and nuances’ through extended playing techniques and, the creation of harmonic sonorities produced and processed from a freer spectral technique approach.

Currently, he is Assistant Professor of Music Theory and Composition at European University Cyprus. His music has reached audiences at renowned festivals and organizations worldwide.

He is a founding member of, and performs with, the Cyprus Guitar Trio.
